So you’ve applied for the University of South Wales, term 2 intake or 2015 start.

You’re looking “fresh as the Dickens” with that one new outfit and that one new hobby you took up during A-level procrastination.

You’re taking a sip out of your Capri-Sun© Fruit Crush Tropical flavoured delicious and you look and feel the coolest and it gets you all contemplative: have I prepared enough for university? Short answer: No. Longer answer: http://www.nooooooooooooooo.com/

Here are some things you should keep in mind alongside the main application/enrolment/travel process. 1. Bring your passport or a copy of your passport. Everywhere.

Your number 1 source of identification as you have yet to receive your student ID! Getting your application done online means your application is likely only half done.

For fresher’s next year, there will be time allocated during inductions week to finish your enrolment which means whipping out that beautiful passport with best van Gogh self-portrait imitation.

2. The Treforest campus and accommodation halls are situated on a steep hill.

Self-explanatory. Plan cardio/stamina exercises accordingly.

3. Join ALL the Facebook groups.

USW has a multitude of functional and informative Facebook groups you can join to continue to be the social media butterfly that you are. Keep informed as to the latest events, society gatherings, and many more!

4. For international students: banking.

Keep in mind that a bank letter written by the university is compulsory before you can make a bank account. This will take some time to process, so apply for one via Student Services or online (online can take up to 2 weeks to process, mind) as soon as you get enrolled.

5. Listen to Dragon Radio USW, #yourstudentsound #selfplug #thicke

We are your new home radio! For up-to-date global affairs and sport coverage, the latest beats (from local to international), and your dose of student voice, tune in to: http://www.dragonradiousw.co.uk/#!Listen/cfmw
